What do you really care about?
Adds: the concrete dimensions of what thriving actually means.
What we asked, what came back
The cohort arrived at Activity 2 holding the seven components from the first session, a shared picture of what makes a neighborhood thrive. Activity 2 narrowed the lens. Where the first question asked what a neighborhood is, this one asked what the cohort actually cares about inside it, component by component.
Working across the seven components, the cohort surfaced the dimensions that sit underneath each one. A component names a broad condition. A dimension is the more specific thing a person can point to, care about, and eventually notice changing. The synthesis collects those dimensions under their components and reads across them for what recurs.
The result has two layers. A summary reads across all seven components and names what the dimensions have in common. Seven component documents go one level down, each holding the dimensions that emerged under a single component. Together they carry Activity 1's framework from broad conditions toward something specific enough to work with.
What we made
The components reference
A reading across all seven components, the place to start before going component by component.
The seven component syntheses
One document per component, each holding the dimensions the cohort surfaced and voted on underneath it. Read alongside the seven components from Activity 1.
Into Activity 3
The dimensions become the working unit. Where Activity 2 named what the cohort cares about under each component, Activity 3 asks what keeps those things alive, the conditions and dependencies that sustain them over time.
The seven-component frame still holds. The dimensions sit inside it. Activity 3 tests which of them depend on each other and which stand on their own.
