What are we leaving with?
Adds: shared orientation, relational closure, and a sense of what continues.
The close
Activity 8 is the close. The retreat moved from a single question about neighborhood to a visible ecosystem and the conditions inside it. The final session, held Thursday, asked what the cohort is actually leaving with: what holds, and what continues past the retreat. The leverage-points work planned as Activity 7 was taken up here, inside the closing.
The session ran in blocks. A go-around surfaced where each person landed. A discussion worked through what sustains each component and what matters most, in the cohort's own terms. The closing pulled those threads into a consolidated synthesis, with a set of recommendations and a first read on what each member is willing to commit to next.
What is here is both the polished synthesis and the working materials behind it. The synthesis is the orientation. The artifacts are the record of how the cohort got there.
What we made
The Thursday synthesis
The consolidated reading of the closing: where the cohort landed, the recommendations, and what carries forward. Explore it on screen, or take the document.
The working materials
The block-by-block syntheses behind the closing, in Markdown. These are the working record for cohort members and conveners.
Beyond the retreat
The roadmap ends here. The network does not. What the cohort is leaving with is not a finished plan but a shared orientation: a common picture of the neighborhood, its conditions, and the ecosystem around it, and a clearer sense of where the leverage sits.
The commitments captured in the closing are the first moves. The recommendations point to what comes after the room empties.
